Words a mother longs to hear...

Today I took Keiton to the doctor and as we entered the exam room Soren found a chair, sat in it quietly and very grown up like, and proceeded to make small talk with the nurse (about his Blue's Birthday video, his next birthday, about how mom "squished the marshmallows and then cooked the cereal", etc - so the secret's out, I made rice krispy treats today, I admit it - but it's not something you want your kid telling his doctor! I'm supposed to feed him spinach and brussel sprouts for his morning snack to be a "good mom"). Anyways, the nurse was quite entertained and they had a great little conversation. She finally said, "I bet I can guess how old you are. How old are you?" to which Soren replied "I'm three" very proudly. Then she said this... it is a moment and a phrase I will never forget and since it will probably be the only time I ever hear it in my life I thought it worthy of documenting on the blog.

"You are one of the most well-behaved three year olds I have ever met."

There it is... just 15 words, but they made my heart swell with pride and then I hoped she would be done really soon and leave the room quickly before her (obviously correct) impression of him changed. I knew that it probably wouldn't take long.

Good for Soren to behave so well.
