It's a good thing I don't have a self-image complex...

because living with a 3 year old could do some major damage if I did.

Here are two conversations we've had in the last week or so, several days apart.

Soren: "mommy, you have a big neck"
Me: I do? Does Soren have a big neck?
Soren No, Soren has a little neck
Me: well, how about daddy? Does he have a big neck or little neck?
Soren Daddy has a little neck like Soren
Me: Hmmm, so daddy and Soren both have little necks, but mommy has a big one?
Soren: Yes, mommy has a BIG (emphasized) neck.

And, a few days later he comes to me with this out of the blue:

Soren: Mommy, you have a BIG (this time from the beginning it was emphasized with a long, drawn out B I G) nose
Me: I do? Does daddy have a big nose?
Soren: No, daddy has a little nose and Soren has a little nose. daddy has a little nose like Soren.
Me: Oh, well, what about Keiton?
Soren Keiton has a little nose too. Daddy has a little nose, Soren has a little nose, Keiton has a little nose and mommy has a B I G nose.

So, there you have it. Apparently, I have a large neck and a very BIG nose. He sure is hilarious with some of the things he comes up with. I need to start a notebook because I know that I've had many a laugh and have forgotten most of the comments already. Sometimes it's simply the body language he uses as well. Or the context. The other day after eating a couple of spoonfuls of icecream he put down his spoon and said "my mouth is sad". I knew right away what he meant and so I said "oh, is your mouth cold?" and he said, "yes, my mouth is cold and so its sad."

Little kids are so creative. (by the way, his mouth didn't stay "sad" for long! and he was back at the icecream again. That's my kid!).

I should be doing other things right now like dishes, laundry, cleaning, sorting, sweeping, mopping, organizing, baking, dusting, etc, but today I've not much motivation. Maybe after a nap I'll feel better...
