Experienced my first earthquake last night. I was sound asleep at 11:20 when it hit, but my dream was interrupted by a loud "boom" of sorts and then the shaking began. I awoke fully immediately and laid there as the house creaked while it swayed, wondering how long it would last and if I should run in and check on the boys. It didn't last long, only a few seconds, but it sure did get my adrenaline going as I laid there for the next 1/2 hour going through all the possibilities of what it "might have been" and finally concluding that it had to have been an earthquake.
This morning it prompted an argument between Layth and I as he slept through the whole thing and insisted the house did NOT shake last night about 11:30. I went online and checked news and of course, there it was as I knew it would be. I've let him know.
The epicenter... Brooks Oregon. A mile (if that) from where we live! Very exciting.

The first time I woke up in an earthquake I thought my sister was shaking my bed. I woke up saying, "Stop it Jamie!" Only to find that she was still in her bed across the room.
