This actually is my second blog - I can also be found at www.xanga.com/sweetrowles. My family uses xanga, but none of my friends do (not that family isn't friends, but hopefully you understand) so, I'm going to try and keep up two of them. Now I can respond to my friends' blogs and leave comments. Eventually, if Layth gets Rowlesfamily.com back up and running I may switch over to that altogether, but for now...
Our big news - my new kitchen table and chairs should arrive this week and Layth found a new slider to replace the old one to the deck off the master bedroom. Very exciting.
I've enrolled Soren in a "music class". We go every Tuesday morning and have a great time together. He gets to play all kinds of different instruments (very basic ones), learn motions to songs, hear different styles of music and dance a lot. The class came with a CD that Soren wants to listen to constantly. I find myself singing beatifully orchestrated jazz pieces about teddy bears and birds... The music compositions are quite nice, the words are just things that small children can relate too. Soren loves to dance (he really gets into it!) and he has a guitar (a small one) that he carries around with him all day. It's a lot of fun. He's going on 18 months now. Amazing. Good news from the doctor's office - as of last week he's broken the 20 lb mark!
I've posted some pictures that have been taken recently. I have a couple more to post from the last month or two, but they must still be on the camera because I cannot find them anywhere on the computer.
Here is the family right around Christmas time. Can you tell what one of our favorite past-times is around here? (I guess it comes with being married to an engineer!).
And, we just got back from a trip to Arizona and San Diego about a week ago. We spent 10 days on the road with grandpa and grandma Rowles (how come once one is a parent everyone is noted through the child's eyes?) or, Jim and JoAnn, mom and dad Rowles, etc. We drove down and then Layth, Soren and I flew back. We enjoyed many days in glorious sunshine walking along boardwalks and relaxing. Quite nice really and it was hard to come back to RAIN. This is a picture taken on the pier as we were walking out to eat dinner at Rubys.
And, here is Soren reading the menu... he's such an intelligent boy!
That's all my news for now. I must go get dinner ready because we have small group tonight!

Hey, Soren, order me a cheeseburger, alright? And its really not fair that your parets take you to the sunny south and mine drag me to "rain city," Canada.

Our family should have a picture like that labtop one. But poor Nika doesn't have her own computer. That's ok. When daddy isn't home she plays on his.
I thought my wife would be really surprized if I left a note on her Blog, so here it is for all to see, HAPPY VALENTINES, SWEETIE I love you more than all the Cold Stone Ice Cream in the whole world, maybe even more than all the computers in the world, but the jury is still out on that one...
