New Carpet!

It's been a very exciting two days around here... we got all new carpet installed! I love it and it adds a wonderful "finishing touch" to the house (not that we're done finishing the house.). The original carpet was one of those things I knew from the beginning was going to have to go as soon as possible. Eventually, I'll post some before and after pictures to give you an idea of the reason I'm so ecstatic about it. It also gives me a good excuse to go through every room, every drawer, every closet, etc and clean out, purge and organize since we had to remove everything from all the rooms before the carpet was laid. My mind is spinning with all the possibilities of rearranging furniture and poor Layth... I don't know how many times I drug him in to help me move a dresser or changing table or bookshelf from end of the room to the next, just to move it again. It's so much fun!

We go camping this weekend - our first camping trip of the summer. I am very much looking forward to it and we have a new tent too. It is a group of 6 families that are going (basically, the women and their families from a Bible Study group that I facilitate at our church). Should be fun. Layth and I are going to introduce them all to "Tonka Toasters" - a camping delicacy that has become a tradition for us and our "Celebration Group" (another group - and another camping trip!) over the years.

It's late and the buzzer is going off on the oven which indicates that the pie I made is done so I'm going to remove it and go to sleep - in my room that smells like brand new carpet...
