Today was a good day. Started out with Mops where I was in childcare. That part, not so good I guess. Definitely not my favorite thing to do and it seems like my room of kids were all having a hard day. But, worth it to be able to attend Mops.
This afternoon the Lundes showed up and I drove Paul and Andrea to the train station and then brought the van back with Benton and Nathaniel. The four boys did quite well together. They played outside, played with the marble game, pretended to be superheros and ended the evening with popcorn and a movie.
I have to admit that it is nice to feel useful again. For months now it's been just me and the boys hanging out at home everyday. Watching the Lunde boys is a wonderful change of pace for all of us and I feel purposeful giving Paul and Andrea the opportunity to get in some couple time. I miss Salem and the activity of life down there - the sharing of babysitting and helping each other when a need arose. Doing life together, being spontaneous. Here, I do none of that - the sharing or helping or asking or anything. It is nice to feel useful and needed every once in a while! My boys are loving it and truth be told, so am I!
That's it for now.
