Soren: "May I please have a graham cracker?"
Mom: "Yes Soren, you may"
Soren: "Did you say yes to Soren?"
Mom: "Yes, I did Soren. You may have a graham cracker"
Soren: "Ohh, great job, mom!"
The other day at CBS Bible Study the kids came in and sang for us. I couldn't see Soren from where I was sitting and so I got up and stood in the back. About 1/2 way through and between songs he spotted me and totally lit up exclaiming "Mom I see you! " and then pointing he said "that's my mommy." Everyone said "ohhh" and "isn't that sweet" as all the ladies turned to see who this adorable kids mommy was. My heart burst with pride and love for the child. So sweet. "Ya, that's mine" I wanted to say... out loud. (I didn't - but I was beaming).
But, that's not the story I was going to write about. The story I want to highlight has to do with his love language and how he searches for something to say that is encouraging.
On the way home from Bible Study that morning we had a conversation that went like this:
Me: Soren, you did such a good job singing today. I'm very proud of you.
Soren: Thank you mom. I'm proud of you too.
Me: You are? Well thank you Soren.
Soren: Ya, you did a great job of..... standing...... on your feet!
It was so cute. He searched and searched his brain to come up with SOMETHING to affirm me on and finally found something. I was standing while he was singing and apparently I do a very good job of that; and not just of standing, but standing ON MY FEET! Make it known everywhere.
He's a sweetie. Here's a picture taken of him at Thanksgiving.
