I didn't get any canning done this year... we were gone, too busy when we finally got home and the budget didn't allow (we're doing Dave Ramsey... ). Although, I did get a few quarts of homemade tomato sauce made (thanks to our neighbors who supplied the tomatoes!) and from it made several quarts of very good homemade spaghetti sauce which I have frozen. Also, my in-laws provided us with a box of peaches and two boxes of apples from their trees. The peaches are cut and frozen (thanks for the help JoAnn) after a very good peach cobbler was made, and the apples will be done early next week. Applesauce. And, a couple of days ago a friend came over (thanks Deanna) and helped me make up a very large batch of "first foods" for Keiton. Good stuff like Acorn Squash, Butternut Squash, Pears, Apples and Sweet Potatoes. It should last him for quite a while.

At our house at least half of us are wearing at least some of the dinner. These were taken before food was on the table, right?
I would love to hear what you did for Keiton's first foods. I just started Karis on carrots a couple days ago. To introduce each food I'm going with store bought in the jars, but I would love to hear what you did. Karis' pediatrician cautioned against preparing and freezing, unless it's organic. I'm not sure I'm going to listen to the advice, but I'm just curious what you did.
