Venice, Italy... The "City of Love"

Venice - it is truly a unique place. I love the intrigue here - the whole town is built on water and the streets are narrow. Around every corner there is a whole new world. It is a most fascinating place.

We've had a very busy couple of days. We have walked miles and miles and miles, taken several "boat" rides (someone handed us 24 hour passes when we got off the train becuase they were leaving a day early and their passes were still good), eaten lots of good food including more gelato, taken hundreds of pictures and of course... the GONDOLA ride through the canals of Venice. It was amazing and we kissed under every bridge. (Did you know that Venice has 400 bridges?!). Last night at dinner Layth bought me a rose... it is truly the City of Love.

The rain came tonight. Now my sunburn can get a reprieve.

I also got to talk to Soren last night. That was very cool. Our phone actually worked here in Italy. We have an internet phone and we brought it with us, hooked it up at an internet spot and called some of our family and friends. All "local" calls. The internet place had never seen it done before and we became quite the talk of hte place with lots of attention. And, i got to talk to Soren, did I mention that?

Tomorrow night we take a night train to Prague. (Call it the "Midnight Express").

That's about all from Venice right now. I'll post pictures when we get home, of course. And, hopefully I'll write at some point from Prague.
