So, we're less than 3 weeks away now and it's time to make a final decision. When all is said and done, my favorite name is Seth (Soren and Seth, it just sounds "right"), and Layth likes Taelan. So, it'll probably be Taelan Seth and I figure if I"m lucky, the little guy will want to go by his middle name (like his daddy) and so he'll be "Seth". Either way though, Taelan was my favorite from "The List".I don't want it spelled though in a way people could get confused and call him Talon (like a claw). So, I've insisted that the name is spelled in a way that it is obvious the "a" is long. Here are some potential ways... what do you think?
Taelan
Taelen
Taylen
Tailen
Tailan
Some people have commented that to have a "y" in a boys name is too pretty. But then I think about the name Layth - that has a "y" in it - and I don't think of the name (or the man!) as feminine at all. Because it is such a rare name though, I want it as masculine as possible so that if someone sees it they'll think it a boys name and not have to wonder. Looking for input if you have any.

The y makes it look too much like Taylor--which is more of a girl name these days (weird modern world). With an i he has a tail, and that's just scary. I like the e best out of the options. I don't have a preference about the ending, but I think people will have an "easier" time spelling it with en. Meanwhile, it's just his name, after all. It's not like it's going to follow him for the rest of his life. Oh wait...
Hey I really like the idea of Taelan Seth or Seth Taelan. I think it would be a great compromise.
