Well, we're home now. The house is still standing and besides a leak in our roof that watered our entryway (a new roof goes on in 4 weeks) and the lawn growing up into a jungle, everything looks the same.
We got into Seattle last night about 7:45. All the flights home went very smoothly. For some reason, all our drama always seems to happen when we're going away and have hotel reservations, trains to catch, etc and not when we're just coming home and don't have the tight time frames. But, I'll take at least one way on a journey that long without difficulties and not complain too much!
We stayed overnight at my moms and were wide awake this morning at 5am (it was 2 pm Prague time!) and so we decided to just get up and get on the road.
I was so tired by early this afternoon that I put Soren down for his nap and laid down "for a quick nap" and woke up three hours later! And I'm still tired.
Our last few days in Prague were very nice. We took a boat ride, ate more really good food, and did lots and lots of shopping . I came away with a beautiful hand-cut black/clear crystal vase. I am quite confident I went into every glass shop they had in Prague (and that's their main seller, so there were lots of them!) to make sure I had researched all my options before I bought. This particular one kept catching my eye and it was within budget, so we bought it and it made it home in one piece.
It was SO good to see Soren. One the last flight home while I should have been sleeping, I was awake, excited to see my little man. He had fallen asleep in the car on the way to the airport so when I opened the door and woke him up he was very groggy and not quite sure what was going on. I had him out of the carseat and into my arms for a hug pretty quick. After he realized that we were both really there, he got VERY wound up and excited. Needless to say, he got to stay up past his bedtime last night as we just played and enjoyed being together again. His vocabulary has expanded exponentially the past two weeks while we've been gone and he did change a little too as far as his facial features.
It's nice to be home. It's nice to have taken the opportunity to go. And it's nice to have the great memories I do of the past two weeks.
Layth is uploading pictures now so after I sort through them and label them, I'll choose a few to post.
